Can anybody do CrossFit? Do you need to be fit to start?
In short- YES and NO, respectively.
It’s easy for me to say. I’ve trained hundreds- if not thousands- of people at this point over the course of 7 years. From super fit, to seriously deconditioned- and everything in between. I’ve seen it time and again, people starting at the depths of their fitness low and within a months are fitter than they have been in 20 years.
These are common concerns we hear in the initial onboarding stages, or feedback we get when our members that are trying to bring in friends or family. They’re scared. You may be scared. Scared of a new environment, scared that you won’t fit in, scared you’ll be “the big guy” or “the big girl”, or just general anxiety about taking on any new endeavour.
The idea of getting fit to start a fitness program is like trying to learn everything before going to school. The act of actually attending and putting in the work is what gets you there, and we’re certain we can help you progress more effectively, faster, and safer through expert coaching.
Lately we have been asking our members questions about their progress. Rachael was the perfect person to ask about this. She’s been with us for a few months now, but prior had never worked out besides going for the odd jog.
